Advanced Self-Protection Technology
The upgrade includes the integration of Elbit's cutting-edge self-protection suite, which features advanced radar warning receivers, missile approach warning systems, and countermeasure dispensers. These systems are designed to detect, track, and neutralize incoming threats, such as surface-to-air missiles, providing enhanced protection for pilots during missions.

A key component of this upgrade is the use of artificial intelligence and real-time data processing, which enables the system to prioritize threats and deploy countermeasures with unmatched speed and accuracy. This advanced technology ensures that pilots can remain focused on their missions while the self-protection suite handles defensive measures autonomously.

Securing the F-16I’s future role
The F-16I "Sufa" has been a cornerstone of the Israeli Air Force's capabilities since its introduction in 2004. Known for its extended range, advanced avionics, and adaptability, the Sufa plays a critical role in Israel's air defense and strike operations. With Elbit’s new upgrades, the F-16I fleet will remain a relevant and formidable asset, capable of handling modern and emerging threats in the region.

Strategic importance
This development highlights Israel's commitment to maintaining its technological edge in the face of evolving security challenges. By equipping its F-16Is with Elbit's state-of-the-art self-protection systems, the Israeli Air Force ensures it can operate effectively in high-threat environments while safeguarding its pilots and aircraft.

These upgrades represent a significant step forward in ensuring the F-16I fleet remains a reliable and versatile platform for years to come, reinforcing Israel’s position as a leader in defense innovation.
